5 Ways to Wellbeing

As part of our well-being day - Be Physically Active – the children in Year 5 learnt all about the physical and mental benefits of being active.

The children designed a warm up session, which we will look to use over the coming weeks.  Year 5 and Year 6 held a mini sports day which included lots of our favourite events.  Have a look at the images to see how we got on.

Being active is not only great for your physical health and fitness. Evidence also shows it can also improve your mental wellbeing by:

  • raising your self-esteem
  • helping you to set goals or challenges and achieve them
  • causing chemical changes in your brain which can help to positively change your mood

To improve wellbeing through being active, incorporate regular physical activity into your routine, whether it's a brisk walk, a bike ride, or a dance session. Find activities you enjoy and make them a regular part of your day, like joining a local walking group, taking the stairs, or having a kickabout in a park.
