Year 3 - Art and Design - Wassily Kandinsky's 'Sky Blue' (1940)

Dear Parents and Carers,

The children in Year 3 have completed their first Art project of this academic year.

They have created stunning compositions that have been inspired by the famous Ukranian artist, Wassily Kandinsky.  In 1940 he painted a piece he called 'Sky Blue'.  The children have interrpreted this piece and, along with detailed sketches of weird and wonderful deep-water sea creatues, designed their own masterpieces.

I have included a few photographs below.  The display looks fantastic and really brightens up the Year 3/4 corridor, complementing the artwork that already adorns the walls.

We are looking to our next Art project.
