Harvest Year 5
Date: 18th Oct 2020 @ 9:14pm
As we could not visit All Saints this year to celebrate harvest, we thought that we could learn via a virtual harvest.
Our week consisted of a virutal tour of a church. The tour containe six different harvest stations which included prayers, stories and resulted in Year 5 combining writing a harvest prayer or poem with a craft activity.
Our Year 5 are poets. Please enjoy our class poem -
Autumn leaves fall to the ground,
bushes of blackberries in abundance around
It's that time of year
when those pesky squirrels have beaten us to the conkers.
Birds dancing in the breeze,
school children playing in the leaves.
Darker days and colder nights,
the windows are misty and we wrap up tight.
Harvest of plenty can now be found.
I sit and wonder,
was harvest a miracle provided by God?
Harvest – a time to thank God for all he has given and for all the cheers that helps lift the spirit.
The golden and burnt orange leaves on the ground,
soon Christmas will come around.
Longing for the Christmas trees,
and to be cuddled tight.
Precious memories being made,
as the summer days start to fade.
So thank you God for the gifts you share,
and for the family and friends and their love and care.
