International Day of Mathematics
Date: 14th Mar 2024 @ 4:19pm
Today 3.14.24 is International day of Mathematics or 'Pi' day.
We understand and appreciate the importance of mathematics here at Wardley CE Primary School and so we wanted to celebrate in style today.
This year's focus was 'Playing with Maths' so we decided to create our own maths games in class which we shared and enjoyed with our classmates.
Each class had the difficult task of selecting a 'winning game':
Well done to Megan & Harley in Y1, Savannah & Ollie in Y2, Niamh & Freya in Y3, Amelia & Ellis in Y4, Dakota & Lily in Y5 and Amelia in Y6 for your fantastic, winning maths games.
Each child received a certificate and maths set as a reward.
A special mention to Charie in Y5 and Deborah in Y6 who won the 'Pi Challange' by remember the most amount of digits in the Pi sequence. Both children could recite Pi up to an impressive 33 decimal places!
A huge well done to Max, Amelia, Emeli, Athena and Elyssia who also had super attempts at this challenge...in front of the whole school!
I think it is safe to say that the children have thoroughly enjoyed their maths day and have particularly enjoyed playing the wonderful games created by their peers.
Well done everyone; you've been amazing!
