Good Morning Year 5
I hope you all had a good weekend. It was great to get out for a long walk on both days.
I have attached an image of a 5 a day for you to complete throughout this week.
Today, I would like to you complete the 3 set tasks on Mathletics. I have changed the weekly spellings on Spellodrome. If you know of anyone who hasn't logged in, please give them a gentle nudge and ask them to complete the tasks on the Year 5 blogs.
Our core text and History topic would have been all about the ancient civilisation of the Maya. To support your writing task, I would like you to research cenotes ready for some descriptive writing tomorrow.
For your project this week, I would like you to research Maya hieroglyphics and then write a message for one of your friends or family members to work out.
There are lots of information out there. I use, amongst others the BBC, www.dkfindout.com/uk/history/mayans/ and www.mayankids.com
Finally, please enjoy reading a book. This should be done every day even if it is for 20 minutes.
