Good morning children!
I hope that you all enjoyed the story ‘Elmer’ as much as me! My favourite page has got to be the last one where all the elephants decorate themselves. I would love it if I caught real elephants decorated like that!
As it is Tuesday, I am uploading another sound worksheet onto the ‘Homework’ section. This week, we are looking at the sound ‘z’. I like this one because when you hold the sound, it makes you sound like a buzzing bumble bee. Have a go at it… it’s a fun sound!
I will be in school tomorrow and so won’t be posting a blog on Wednesday. Therefore, I thought I would give you a challenge to be getting on with tomorrow linked with Elmer. As you know, Elmer is a multi-coloured elephant. Have a look at the picture of the front cover I have uploaded to see all his different colours.
Did you know that you can make all colours of the rainbow using just blue, red and yellow?
Your challenge is to get out some paints if you have them and experiment by mixing the different colours together.
- What happens if you mix red and yellow together?
- What about blue and red?
- I wonder what colour you make it if you mix red AND yellow And blue together all at once?
Another fun way of mixing colours is if you have any tissue paper, you can layer the different colours on top of each other and spray them with water. You should start to see the colours leaking out of the paper and mixing to make new colours.
Have fun, I will post again on Thursday.
