Monday =)
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I didn’t really do that much. I tried to sort my plants out because they were in desperate need of some TLC. Hopefully the weather will soon be back to being glorious so that we can all get back in the garden.
Phonics
I will aim to keep the phonics similar each week, so that you and your children get into a routine that is familiar for everyone.
Practise the phonemes on the sound mat daily.
Each day of the week, I will also give you a sound to practise. Please write any words in home learning book:
o Monday 4th: Focus on the ‘ou’ sound. Ask children to read: out, shout, loud, proud. See if children can write the following words with the ou sound: count, shout, out.
o Tuesday 5th: Focus on the ‘oy’ sound. Ask children to read: boy, toy, joy, annoy. See if children can write the following words with the oy sound: toy, boy and joy.
o Wednesday 6th: Focus on the ‘ea’ sound. Ask children to read: tea, beat, meat, lead
o Thursday 7th: Focus on the ‘aw’ sound. Ask children to read: yawn, dawn, lawn. Can children write the following words? Claw, paw, saw
o Friday 8th: Focus on the long ‘ai’ sound. Ask children to read: snail, rain, train. Can children write the following words? Tail, bail, jail
Practical maths
Warm up by counting from 0-100 forwards and backwards please, you can always use your number line to help you.
Find some different containers to put water in – check your bottle bins too. Can you fill them so 1 container is full, 1 nearly full. 1 half full. 1 nearly empty and 1 empty. Can you put them in order?
Creative
To get moving : )
I want you this week to create a dance routine to your favourite song. My little boy loves dancing to Steps ‘Tragedy’ and on our family WhatsApp we have all sent videos of us dancing to it.
Have some fun boys and girls, I bet your parents would love to join in as well = )
