Monday
I hope you all had a lovely weekend =)
Focus for this week: CCVC words
Spellings for this week: – gran, from, clap, plan, you. Practise these words little and often for a test on Friday.
Monday 18th: Recap quickly on the sounds oo, ar, or, ur, ow (these are on the PowerPoint on SchoolSpider if you want to use it). Can children identify the sound quickly? Go through a couple of times. Then, ask your child to read the word spot (if they struggle cover the first sound and read the word pot, then repeat adding the first sound ‘s’ to make the word spot, emphasising the blend of ‘s’ and ‘p’). Repeat for the following words stop, spin, twin, glad.
Tuesday 19th: Recap on sounds oo, ar, or, ur, ow and this week’s spellings. Play Picnic on Pluto on Phonics play https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/2/picnic-on-pluto. Select Phase 4, then select CCV and CCVC words and next select set 1-7.
Wednesday 20th: Recap on sounds oo, ar, or, ur, ow and this weeks spellings. In your best handwriting, practise writing CCVC words in your yellow books.
