Well-being Nature Art
Date: 30th Oct 2024 @ 3:31pm
As we welcomed back our Year 6 class for their second Autumn half term, we focused on our well-being and mental health.
Our first day back, which is always a wellbeing day, was dedicated to focusing on the theme "Take Notice," from the Five Ways to Wellbeing (see our dedicated website area for more details on this). This day was all about engaging in activities that encourage us to be present, appreciate our surroundings and genuinely enjoy the company of each other.
In Year 6, the pupils opted to create some 'natural art' using objects found on the school grounds (though we did add a little bit of sparkle and some googley eyes from Mrs Walker's craft box).
After listening to their surroundings and hearing rustling leaves, laughter, crunching leaves, the soft wind, gentle tapping and birds, the children went about the grounds to collect their objects....mainly soggy leaves, twigs, berries and grass. After drying their items out during their Geography and Maths lessons, the children were ready to get creative...
Take a look at their fabulous pieces of natural art; they really were beautiful.
Well done Year 6!
