World Book Day 2024

Here at Wardley, we LOVE reading and what better way to celebrate World Book Day than by reading.

The children came to school dressed in what they feel comfortable reading in...we had children in their pjs, children in their football kits, children in their tracksuits and children dressed as book characters. They all looked fabulous! Staff too joined in by dressing in what they feel comfortable reading in and they shared their current favourite books with the children during collective worship. 

Each class had a difficult decision when choosing their favourite poster created by a class member. We had over 100 posters created so selecting just 8 to display in our Reading Area was very challenging. 

Take a look at our photos to see the children in collective worship and to see the winners of the poster competition. Each winner got to choose a new book to take home. 

Overall, it was a wonderful day celebrating our love of reading and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
