World Book Day 2023
What a turn out we had here at Wardley for World Book Day 2023! The children really made an excellent effort and looked amazing in their book character costumes.
They all got a chance to take a look at each other's costumes during our morning collective worship where each class had the opportunity to stand up and share their character with the rest of the school. The children thoroughly enjoyed taking a look at each other.
As World Book Day is about reading, the teachers shared their favourite childhood book with the school and hopefully inspired some of the pupils to read their chosen book.
The children were invited to create a poster about reading and their favourite books. We had the very difficult decision of choosing a winning poster from each class as there so many to chose from.
Well done to the following children for being selected:
Edith in nursery, Mia in reception, Jeevan in Y1, Mila in Y2, Lola in Y3, Sienna in Y4, Max in Y5 and Holly & Evie in Y6.
Each child received a certificate and were invited to choose a new book from Mrs Walker's selection. Their winning posters will be framed and displayed in our reading area.
A huge well done to everyone who took part. It really was a pleasure to see so much effort for this wonderful celebration.
Happy reading everyone!
