Good morning Year 6.
Today is my first day working from home...with Tom and George constantly mithering me! :)
Already we have had the paints out, made a racing track and read an information text about a cow (George's choice). Tom is currently playing Times Tables Rock Stars and is enjoying collecting points - yesterday he achieved 3000 points and he wants to know if any of you have gained more than that??
So...what should you do today?
As always, I would you like you to complete your 5 a Day.
Then I want you to log on to Mathletics and complete 2 of the activities.
Have a break!
Then write a descriptive paragraph about the Titanic...find yourself a picture online and use that as a stimulus. Try to include a simile, a metaphor and some personification within your writing and remember to check your use of punctuation.
As the weather is still so beautiful, get outside if you can. Find the most interesting leaf that you can...it might be because of its shape or the colours within it...what ever catches your eye. We're going to make a picture with the leaves that we collect later on this afternoon so why not join in if you can.
Also, make sure that you do a little bit of reading...even if it's just for 20 mins.
Take your time, work at a leisurely rate. As long as you complete some maths, some reading and some writing each day, your brains will remain well stimulated.
Enjoy your day,
Mrs Walker xxxx
