Year 5 DT WEEK - SUMMER TWO

Hello Year 5

As part of DT week, we will be developing skills involved in food hygiene and food preparation.

If possible, please can you bring in the following cooking utensils for Monday 17th July in a plastic bag (Feel free to bring them in the week before)

? Wooden/plastic spoon / spatula
? Mixing bowl
? Sealable tub

To tie in with our Maya topic, we will be preparing biscuit mixture for chocolate-spiced cookies (don’t worry, they won’t be too hot!)
We will be tasting a range of spices and preparing the biscuit mix in school.

We are asking if the children could bake the cookies at home and then bring them in the following day. Unfortunately, due to limited oven space,
we can’t bake them in school. The children will then decorate the cookies with their own hieroglyph designs.
