A Better Day Will Come - Year 6 Leavers 2020
Many of our Year 6 pupils have returned to school to be together for the final few weeks of the academic year. We felt that it was important that they returned to our school after staying at home during ‘lockdown’ as we wanted them to have closure before they leave us to attend their high schools. We know that mental health and well-being is paramount amongst our students and we feel that bringing the Y6 children back together for the last 7 weeks has given them the opportunity to spend some quality time together.
Andy Silver from Pop Uk contacted school about an exciting project that would allow the children to learn a new song and to make a video. Having worked with Andy in the past, we know that he has strong links with the church and that his music is dedicated to the development of social, moral, spiritual and cultural learning which is something that we are most keen to embrace here at Wardley CE Primary School.
Andy sent over a new song that he has written about the current times – A Better Day Will Come. The song acknowledges that now that many of us are coming out of ‘lockdown’ and that sad times may have occurred, there is always light within the darkness and that better days will come.
The link below will lead you to the children’s video on Youtube. If the link does not work, it can be copied and pasted straight in to the search within Youtube.
The video is a wonderful celebration for our children and a memory for them to cherish. Even though this has not been the usual end to the school year, we have still had fun and most importantly, we have been able to be together.
