Year 6 WWII Workshop
Date: 4th Dec 2024 @ 2:06pm
Our Year 6 children attended a WWII workshop in school today.
Historian Richard White, visited the children to share his many WWII artefacts and stories with them.
The children looked at primary pieces of evidence from WWII including shrapnel, pieces of WWII bombs, an actual incendiary bomb (don't worry, it was de-activated!), first aid kits, a stirrup pump, ARP helmets, rationed food, an evacuees suitcase and its belongings, WWII propaganda posters and much, much more.
Needless to say, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and found the artefacts fascinating. It was a lovely opportunity for them to consolidate much of the learning that they have been doing in their History lessons.
