Year One's Design Technology Adventure: Bringing Storybooks to Life!

We have been on an exciting journey in Design Technology and  recently put our creativity and engineering skills to work by making our very own storybooks with moving parts. We learned about two cool mechanisms, the slider mechanism, and the lever mechanism, and used them to bring the classic tale of 'Humpty Dumpty' to life right in the pages of our books.

Today, we took our storybooks and shared them with the little ones in Reception. They were so thrilled to see our creations and had a chance to get hands-on with the moving parts. It was incredible to watch their faces light up as they interacted with our 'Humpty Dumpty' storybooks and it was amazing to see how our hard work and imagination could spark joy in others. Sharing and spreading happiness is what it's all about, isn't it?

Remember Team, you not only learned about the slider and lever mechanisms, but also shared the magic of storytelling with the Reception children. We are so proud of the work you've done and the thoughtfulness you showed today. Keep being creative, kind, and curious, because as you've already seen, your creativity can bring joy to others.
